Welcome!
Rocky Mountain Organic Supply is a small company with family values. Based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, we have been involved with worm farming since 2010 and are strong supporters of organic growing. We believe in doing business with honesty, integrity and earth-friendly intelligence.
Rocky Mountain Organic Supply exists to support organic gardeners, farmers and growers seeking specially formulated, all-natural soil amendments that will save them time, energy and resources, without compromising yield.
Our core strength is breeding worms and harvesting 99.9% pure organic worm castings. We also sell a variety of organic soil amendments, as well as products and equipment from other specialty vendors committed to organic agriculture, horticulture and home gardening. Our high-quality products are available locally in Colorado Springs and shipped nationwide.
Our guiding philosophy
We are driven by a simple philosophy: that healthier soil leads to healthier plants and a healthier planet. We believe:
-
- Organic, sustainable growing should be the norm. You don’t need synthetic fertilizers and nutrients – you just need to support natural biology through organic means to create a healthy soil food web.
- It is possible to use all-natural products and still save time, energy and resources, without compromising yield.
- We can make a lasting difference by improving the health and well-being of our family, friends and neighbors, starting with sharing our knowledge within the local gardening community.
Our dedication to organic and artisanal quality is uncompromising: if we wouldn’t use it in our own personal garden, we would never sell it to use in our customer’s garden.

Our scientific approach
We’re not like most other worm farmers. And our earthworms aren’t like other worms. Why? Because we are soil biology specialists. We produce what we sell and understand down to the ground level, and below, exactly what is happening and what is needed. Scientific knowledge goes into everything we do, and the results speak for themselves.
Every year, poorly performing products flood the shelves of grow shops and garden centers, promising results with little to back them up. The truth is, you don’t need those products – you need a healthy soil food web.
We have the knowledge and products that support the soil biology you need to succeed. Our products go through independent lab tests carried out by a reputable soil biology lab, Earthfort Labs in Oregon. Our results indicate optimal, premium soil biology that is consistently rated in the highest range of excellence.
As an avid gardener, Richard became disillusioned when his garden failed to thrive using conventional fertilizer and compost products. He began diligently researching the soil food web and the importance of microbial life, which started his journey into raising worms and producing worm castings. Today, Richard strives to share his knowledge of soil and plant biology to help others harness the power of organic growing.
Our in-demand worms
Our African Nightcrawlers – and their castings, cocoons and offspring – are used by growers across the USA. They have also achieved a pseudo-celebrity status through their use in special initiatives, including:
- One of Colorado’s largest CBD Hemp farms
- Cannabis-infused edibles for terminally ill patients (“MEDibles”)
- Medicine for patients across 49 states, all 23 medical states and Washington D.C., and some U.S. Territories
- Partnered with CSU in its involvement with the Colorado Rockies Coors Field sustainable gardening project
Our support for local initiatives
Rocky Mountain Organic Supply values local, sustainable gardening efforts. We promote and educate others on organic soil health, and we’re proud to partner with the members of Pikes Peak Urban Gardens.
You’re invited to join us as we work to grow the local movement of sustainable gardening in Colorado Springs and the surrounding communities of the Pikes Peak region.
