SHIPPING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Shipping Live Worms

• Worms are shipped every Monday or Tuesday depending on holidays and weather. All orders must be paid for and processed by Saturday to ensure prompt shipping.
• As worms are living creatures, we do everything within our power to ensure safe travel to their destination. This includes holding orders during periods of bad weather (hot and cold).
• We conditionally guarantee Live Delivery in the continental USA only. For the Live Guarantee to be valid, the worms must be accepted on the first delivery attempt. Please make sure that someone is at your address to receive the delivery.
• It may take 24–48 hours for shipped worms to rebound from the shipping experience. If there is a problem with the worms, we request to be notified within 48 hours. Later notifications will not be acknowledged.
• We are not responsible for handling, treatment and conditions out of our control after delivery of worms. When entering the higher temperatures of summer and colder temperatures of winter, we are not always able to safely ship the worms due to their perishable nature. The extended forecast is not always reliable and can change quite a bit from day to day.
• The temperature needs to be favorable not only where you live, but also along the route on which the worms will be shipped. Therefore, the exact ship date of your worms will depend upon the reasonable delivery conditions.
• It is our discretion to decide when we ship the worms. If you cannot wait until the conditions are right, please let us know so we may issue a prompt refund.

Shipping Worm Eggs / Earthworm Cocoons

• Cocoons are shipped every other Monday or Tuesday depending on holidays and weather. All orders must be paid for and processed by harvest Saturday to ensure prompt shipping.
• As cocoons are living organisms, we do everything within our power to ensure safe travel to their destination. This includes holding orders during periods of bad weather (hot and cold).
• As we freshly harvest cocoons every other weekend, shipping times range from a few days to over a week depending on when an order is placed and the time until our next harvest.
• Please make sure that somebody is at your address to receive the delivery.
• During our peak season, cocoons are shipped out on a first come, first served basis. If we run out before reaching your order, it will be processed in the order in which it was received.
• It takes 2–4 weeks before most people can see their new baby worms. The material the cocoons are shipped in is called ‘hatch material,’ and it includes cocoons, castings, unconsumed matter and small remnants of our composting process. This material is loaded with viable cocoons that are hidden to the naked and untrained eye.
• We are not responsible for handling, treatment and conditions out of our control after delivery of cocoons. Shipping Worm Castings

• As worm castings are a living product, we try to ensure their arrival to your door as quickly as possible to avoid damage from excessive heat or extreme cold.
• We try to use USPS Flat Rate boxes for this purpose for most orders, but also offer FedEx and UPS shipping for some 15lb bags and 40lb boxes.
• We prefer to ship during the week when the worm castings have the best chance to make it before Sunday, so they are not spending the weekend in limbo at the post office or FedEx distribution warehouse.
• This means we typically ship on Monday and Tuesday only, with exceptions depending on distance from our store and estimated shipping time.
• It is our goal to get the freshest product possible into your hands with the quickest reasonable transit time to ensure you have the best experience with our worm castings and the amazing microbial life they bring to your soil and plants.
